First, find an image that you like, and that is within the
rules. Then you will have to find a place to host it such as these popular choices: Photobucket, imgur or ImageShack. All that is left to do is copy the URL you were given when uploading it to the avatar field in your profile. Please do not make a post just to test your avatar. If everything is all right you'll see it in your details page.
Only you and the site moderators can view your IP address and email. Regular users do not see that information.
Please don't hit and run! BitTorrent is a peer to peer technology. This means that when you download a torrent from aus.sierules.com, you are actually trading pieces of the file with other aus.sierules.com users, not getting it straight from the aus.sierules.com website. Other aus.sierules.com users are relying on you for pieces of the files you have already downloaded, just as you are relying on them to provide bits of files you are downloading. Please leave torrents running in your torrent software after your download has completed so that other aus.sierules.com users can also download the files! The longer you leave the file in your client you will earn Bonus points that can be turned in for upload credits to help your overall share ratio.
Go here to turn in your Bonus points Maintaining a 1/1 share ratio or better This isn't a complete guide on ratios but just some pointers. We would like to see most users on the site having a ratio of plus 1. We know this is not possible for all users but, as long as the site staff sees you are making an effort to seed back what you have downloaded then its unlikely you will be banned. First of all, for the majority of us our maximum (and overall) upload speed is significantly lower than the download rate. In order to maintain a 1/1 ratio or better, points to consider are: 1 - Do not hit and run. Do not close / stop your bittorrent client immediately after you finished downloading, but keep it open until you have uploaded at least as much as you have downloaded (a minimum of 1 to 1). Stopped torrents can be easily started again to resume seeding. And, removed torrents can be re-seeded at later time. Reseeding is just reloading a completed torrent back in your client (application you used to download) so that you can share the file with other users. 2 - Don't be greedy. Don’t download too many torrents. Because every download eats up part of your upload capacity and you only make things worse for your share ratio. 3 - Be technical. Limit your download speed by changing settings in your bittorrent client. If you set your maximum download speed to be equal to your upload speed you are much more likely to avoid getting a very low share ratio. Other points to consider: Point 1 - If you're only downloading quite unpopular torrents try to download a popular one as soon as it's posted, because after you've downloaded it and are seeding there's bound to be people that want it that'll leech off you. Point 2 - It's a good idea to exercise some restraint over how much you download. There's loads of stuff I want on here but I just make a note of it until I’ve seeded enough to get my ratio high enough so that when I download something new my ratio doesn't die again. Point 3 - If possible, leave your computer seeding while you're at school or work. Credit to murphy1701 from tasmanit.es for this. Ratios are a simple but important part of your account. When dealing with torrents, your ratio refers to the proportion of amount uploaded to amount downloaded. As a mathematical equation, your ratio equals the total amount you have uploaded divided by the total amount you have downloaded (ratio = up/down). For example, if you have uploaded 100 GB and downloaded 25 GB, your ratio = 100/25; or you have a 4.00 ratio.
A fair ratio to keep is 1.00. This means that you have uploaded the same amount as you have downloaded. When all users do this, it ensures: faster downloads by having more seeds per torrent, longer torrent lifespans, and protection from the autoban script. If your ratio is not kept up and it falls below 0.4, your ability to download new torrents is removed, and you have have two weeks to regain a 0.4 ratio before being banned. It's important to distinguish between your overall ratio and the individual ratio on each torrent you may be seeding or leeching. The overall ratio takes into account the total uploaded and downloaded from your account since you joined the site. The individual ratio takes into account those values for each torrent. You may see two symbols instead of a number: "Inf.", which is just an abbreviation for Infinity, and means that you have downloaded 0 bytes while uploading a non-zero amount (ul/dl becomes infinity); "---", which should be read as "non-available", and shows up when you have both downloaded and uploaded 0 bytes (ul/dl = 0/0 which is an indeterminate amount). You ratio is displayed at the top of each page, don't ignore it until it's too late.
